Rebecca Danker has been invited to exhibit her latest series of paintings at Eastern Virginia Medical School, May 10 through June 21 reflecting her sentiments about Desert Storm and ensuing problems of the conflict.
She was deeply moved by the war and the disparity between East and West with respect to their different cultures in relation to life, and the future symbolized by the children who are the promise of the better world to be. With a special penchant for color, the paintings reflect the reality of the Middle Eastern villages, the towering structures of Manhattan, the old next to the new clashing with each other. The camels represent the chaos of the unfortunate turmoil between the ancient and modern in the fast-paced world.

The exhibit also depicts compassion for young and old, spirituality, the enigmatic peace, and the yet unsolved problems of contemporary life.
Danker studied painting under the famous Israeli artist and head of the Bezalel Art School in Jerusalem, Ardon Bronstein. Her classmates were the famous artists Yosi Stern and the world renowned Yaakov Agam. She received her diploma with honors.
She was also awarded the Bachelor of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA, and a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from City College of New York, NY.
